Versatile Blogger Award

20 Dec

Could this week have started any better? I am honored and flattered to announce that I have been nominated and awarded the “Versatile Blogger Award”!  It is a great honor and achievement for me as I have only been at this blogging gig for like a minute. I would like to personally and especially thank Danya at Ediblesubstance for this wonderful nomination!

Versatile Blogger Award

The Versatile Blogger Award

First things first, there are some rules that come along with this distinction:

1) Thank the person who nominated me and link back to them in my post.

2) Share 7 things about myself

3) Pass the award on to 15 more bloggers that I enjoy

4) Contact the bloggers I have chosen to let them know that they have been selected!

So here we go!

Seven Things About Me:

1. I am INTENSELY competitive. I was once sent off in a touch football game (thats American Football) for unecessary roughness.

2. I absoultely love to learn about anything to do with history. World War II, American Indians, and Eygptology are among my favorite topics for discussion.

3. Top 3 Music groups of all time: Journey, The Police, and U2. I also have a strange fascination with Disco.

4. I love to travel and have been to Canada, Italy, Mexico, Korea, Japan, China, Australia, and Guam.

5. I am quite addicted to wine, with the Argentinian varieties being my favorite.

6. I have a special talent with voices. I can imitate about a dozen different cartoon voices. Some of them being Golom from the Lord of the Rings, Scooby-Doo, Roger Rabbit,  and Yogi Bear.

7.  My absolute Top 5 foods!

  1. Tamales Oaxaqueños- traditional to Oaxaca, a corn tamale usually filled with chicken and mole negro, wrapped in a banana leaf.
  2. Tostadas de Pata – Delicious pickled beefs feet served on a tostada.
  3. My fathers fresh cavatelli with ragu – He makes this fresh ricotta cavatelli that is a must eat!
  4. Anything involving duck!
  5. Alaskan King Crab Legs – Steamed, Grilled, Braised, whatever! One of my wifes favorites too!

Now for my fifteen nominees (in no particular order):

1. Back Road Journal

2. Oh Cake

3. The Three Little Piglets

4. Sarah Cupcake

5. Cooking in the Great Outdoors

6. European Cutie

7. Cooking Classy

8. I Thee Cook

9. My Fudo

10. Dream of Cakes

11. Sandra & Kathy’s Corners

12. Freshly Seasoned

13. Fresh of the Boat Meats

14. Eat Yourself Skinny

15. The Saucy Gourmet

These are the Best of the Best in my food world. I would have nominated some others, but they were already nominated. Among those are of course EdibleSubstance and her fabulous sister at Eat Now Talk Later, thanks for inspiring me to do a better blog!

I hope you all enjoy these blogs as much as I have!
